Fiji Prime Minister Attends the Special High Level Meeting of the ECOSOC in New York

In his capacity as Chair of the Group of 77 and China, Fiji’s Prime Minister, Commodore Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama, today attended the Special High Level Meeting of the UN’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with the Bretton Woods Institutions, the World Trade Organization, and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

China G77 Meeting on Climate Change

The Chair of the Group of 77 Ambassador Peter Thomson met today with Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission of China Mr. Xie Zhenhua, to discuss the multilateral process of UNFCCC climate change negotiations and related matters. Mr. Xie is in New York to meet with the UN Secretary-General and key stakeholders including the G77 to discuss the year’s work programme of climate change negotiations.
